Blizzard Entertainment announced on 26 June (local time) that it will cancel BlizzCon 2020 due to corona 19 influence.

BlizzCon is an annual community festival that announces blizzard’s new games and includes esports competitions, held every fall in the United States. More than 40,000 people from 59 countries participated in BlizzCon at the Anaheim Convention Center in Anaheim, California, USA, on November 1 and 2 last year (local time). “BlizzCon 2019” was announced for “Diablo 4” and “Overwatch 2”.

Sarah Lynn Smith, Responsible Producer of BlizzCon, said, “After much discussion about hosting the convention, considering a number of factors, including changes in health and safety and health guidelines around the country, we decided not to hold BlizzCon this year.”

Instead of canceling BlizzCon, Blizzard is considering running the event online. It also hinted at the possibility of holding an event early next year.

Most game shows have been closed this year since the spread of Corona 19, including BlizzCon. E3, Gamescom, and Tokyo Game Show, one of the world’s three biggest game shows, all canceled offline events. ChinaJoy, china’s largest game show, will host an event in Shanghai, China, on July 31.
